Summary


The process of customizing and extending plugins is crucial for building websites in a rapid process. So, we started extending plugins by creating an addon for the post attachments plugin developed in the previous chapter. Next, we looked at the WordPress core action execution process and its importance using sample scenarios. Then, we moved into the process of using various techniques for customizing plugins, while modifying WooCommerce product features. Finally, we looked at the different types of integrations between plugins, while integrating popular plugins to understand the process.

In Chapter 6, Practical Usage of WordPress APIs, we will be exploring the built-in WordPress APIs, while learning how to use them practically in plugin development.
