You’ll understand each microservice as it is broken down into details and written out as code throughout the book. Setting up our services

We will need three services set up for our backend, as seen in the previous chapters. It is time to set up the three services now. This section contains three parts:

  • Setting up Dockerfiles
  • Setting environment variables
  • Running the entire application

Setting up Dockerfiles

A Dockerfile is used by Docker to create a new image. It contains the instructions you want Docker to execute to get to the final image. To set up Dockerfiles, follow the given steps:

  1. Go into each service folder and open the Package.swift file.
  2. Name the service accordingly (UserManager, ProductManager, or OrderManager).
  3. Now create a Dockerfile file in each folder that contains the following commands:
