Preface

Introduction

In the previous lesson, we learned that transactional replication can be used to maintain one or more secondary copies of a database. The secondary database can be used for HA or DR purposes or to offload the reads from the primary database.

In this lesson, we will learn how to monitor transactional replication using the replication monitor. The replication monitor provides real-time replication status (data flow) between the publisher, the distributor, and the subscriber. We'll use the replication monitor and other troubleshooting techniques to fix a few of the common real-world transactional replication problems.
