Creating a Responsive Project

It is now time to open Captivate and create your first Responsive Project, using the following steps:

  1. Open Captivate or close every open file.
  2. On the Welcome screen, under the New tab, double-click Responsive Project. Alternatively, you can also use the File | New Project | Responsive Project menu item.

This action creates a new Responsive Project. The choice to create a Responsive Project or a regular Captivate project must be done upfront when creating the project. You can also convert an existing regular project created using Captivate 9, 2017, or 2019 to a Responsive Project. You will learn about this workflow later in the chapter.

The responsive workspace of Captivate is similar to what you are used to, with the exception of the Layout Preview bar across the top of the stage. The Layout Preview bar will help you view how the content will be displayed on different device sizes, right inside the Captivate edit area:
