Variables and Advanced Actions

Adding Hotspots to display text

In the next few sections,  you will be adding some custom Hotspot images and assigning different actions to them. Let's start with the Display Text action:

  1. Return to slide 2 of the VR_project.cptx file.
  2. To add a custom image as a Hotspot, go to the Toolbar and click Hotspots | Image.
  3. Navigate to the  Chapter11/hotspots folder.
  4. In the Enable dropdown, select Png Files(*.png)
  5. Select Angle.png and click Open.
  6. Click and drag the Angle Hotspot right above the sofa.
  7. With the Hotspot still selected, turn your attention to the Properties inspector.
  8. Open the On Click dropdown and select Display Text.
  9. Go to the Chapter 11 folder and open the Text.txt file in any text editor.
  10. Copy the paragraph below  [text display – over sofa].
  11. Go back to Captivate and paste this text into the Text field of the Properties inspector.
  12. Change the display duration to 9 seconds.
