Variables and Advanced Actions

Reusing Library items

One of the main benefits of the Library is that you can reuse assets. This means you don't have to reimport them every time. In this section, you will learn how to reuse the assets already imported in the project using the following steps:

  1. In the Chapter04/takeTheTrain.cptx file, use the Filmstrip to navigate to slide 2.
  2. Select the character image on the left side of the slide.
  3. Right-click the image and click the Find in the Library menu item.

This action selects the IMG_9105.png image in the Library, as shown in the following screenshot:

Renaming Library items
The default name of an item in the Library panel is the name of the file that was imported in the project. If you want, you can right-click a Library item to rename it and give it another, more meaningful name.

If you want to use the same image again, there is no need to import it a second time. It can be taken directly from the Library panel and reused as many times as needed throughout...
