Adding the footer section

The last section of this page is a simple footer. Footers are on almost every website, and although they may seem like an afterthought, well-designed footers provide shortcuts to key pages that visitors may find useful. In this case, SecondPlate's footer will simply contain links to its social media accounts. We'll see how we can achieve this.

Again, as always, let's begin by drafting out a plan of action for how we'll break up the content. As seen in Figure 5.39, we can break the footer up into these sections:

  • The outer section
  • The footer container
  • The logo on the left
  • The social media icons in the center
  • The copyright text on the right
