If your shop maintains a flat categories tree, and doesn't have more than one subcategory level, you can fit a search box into the top navigation bar (even for a screen resolution of 800x600 pixels). This recipe will show you how to move your search box to be visible at first glance, and how to modify code for better search results. Currently, the search box can really be described as hiding near the bottom of the left column; hard to find if you have a few categories, and are displaying new products and the manufacturer box. Additionally, for customers preferring to use an advanced search function, you can add an easy-to-spot link within the Categories infobox.
