Support and maintenance is often overlooked and if attention is not paid, the quality of the solution and its use can diminish, making the solution less valuable over time. Just like a car, an application needs regular maintenance to keep it running well. Therefore it's important to consider this upfront and not wait until six months after the solution has been delivered to consider how to deal with patches or upgrades.
