The Playlist is the audio version of a slideshow. Before continuing, we should note the multiple uses of the phrase playlist in online multimedia. The first use we're about to explore is the concept of creating a series of audio clips that may be played sequentially, often from a single embedded player, but may include a listing of audio clips on a page. The second use is to create a user-generated listing of clips, as opposed to an editor-controlled playlist, which may be presented in a similar fashion. This could be used to mark favorite clips for later playback, for instance. We will examine this later.

We already know how to create a series of audio clips that may be listed on a single page: Take the work we did in the last section with the Clips embedded in Articles, and simply mark the Clip node reference field as accepting more than one value (from Administer | Content management | Content types | Article | Manage fields | Clip at /admin/content/node-types/clip/fields...
