Introduction: A New and Easy Way to Build Websites

Time for action—register yourself and log in


Let's see what site visitors have to do to create an account. We'll create a dummy user account ourselves.

  1. 1. On the frontend, click the Create an account link below the Login Form in the left-hand side column (if you've created a menu link to a separate login page, as described above, then click on this menu link and click on Register). This will take you to the Registration page. Enter your details and make sure to use a valid E-mail address.

  2. 2. After clicking on Register, you are taken to the home page. On the home page, Joomla! displays a system message: Your account has been created and an activation link has been sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the e-mail before you can login.

  3. 3. Joomla! will now send an automatically generated e-mail that contains a link you must click on to activate your new user account. You'll be taken to the home page and...
