Related products


In Magento, a related product is a product that you would like your customer to buy, in addition to the one that the customer is viewing. For example, suppose a customer is viewing a contemporary-styled coffee grinder. You might present the customer with a mug made in a similar, contemporary style.

Getting ready

Before you begin adding a related product like the one pictured above, you should:

  • Create the simple product for which you want a related product. Ensure that it is in stock and enabled.

  • Create the related product. Ensure that it is in stock and enabled.

How to do it...

  1. 1. Log in to your site's backend or Administrative Panel.

  2. 2. Select Catalog | Manage Products. The Manage Products page displays. You will see a list of the products in your store.

  3. 3. For the product that you want to add a related product, select the Edit link. The Product Information page displays. The General tab will be selected for you.
