Twitter (http://www.twitter.com) is a micro-blogging platform available via the Web, IM, and mobile devices. It allows you to publish short, quick-fire messages called Tweets, up to 140 characters in length, aimed at answering a simple question: What's happening? You can invite people to follow your Tweets and in turn, you follow theirs. It's a very social medium, which is one of its major attractions to bloggers.
So, what can it do for your blog? Well, as with many Web 2.0 applications, people are still figuring out exactly how they can use it to best effect. At its simplest level, it's just a way of keeping in touch with your friends, family, and colleagues. But it could be used as another channel to publicize your blog.
