The Moodle mobile web service


We have already mentioned mobile Moodle a number of times in this chapter. Now, let us have a look at what it is all about and how you enable the powerful service on your Moodle system.

Note

Moodle 2.1 or greater is required to support the Moodle mobile web service.

Moodle have released a free application for the iPhone that allows users to interact with a Moodle system. At the time of writing (application version 1.0.2), some basic features are supported, such as uploading of pictures and videos, voice recording as well as some messaging functionality, and participants' information. Additional tools will be added in the very near future. An Android version, that is expected to have similar functionality, is in the planning.
