Adding content with the content type


Now that we have built our content type, we can begin to use this type to add the specific Bread & Pastry item nodes to the site.

Creating a new Breads and Pastries item

In this section we add new content to our site using our custom content type.

Goal

Build Bread & Pastry items using our new content type, for display on the website.

Steps

  1. We will start by clicking on the Add content link in the toolbar menu. Drupal will now open the same list of possible content types that we saw when we built our static pages in Chapter 2, Creating the Artisan Bakers Collective Website. However, now our new Breads & Pastries type is also available.

  2. Click on the Breads & Pastries link and Drupal will present you with a form based on the custom fields that we have created.

  3. Complete all of the fields for the new content type, and then click the Save button.

  4. Once the node has been created, the default display will look like the following screenshot:
