Time for action – enabling the mail server

  1. Log in to Liferay using admin credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Control Panel by clicking on Manage | Control Panel from the dock bar.

  3. Click on Server Administration, and then click on the Mail tab, which will bring up the screenshot as follows:

  4. We will use Gmail as our mail server. For Outgoing SMTP Server, type the value as smtp.gmail.com. For Outgoing Port, put the value as 465. Select the checkbox, which says Use a Secure Network Connection. For User Name give your full Gmail address, and for the Password, give your Gmail password.

  5. Click on Save.
