Web content is a section of a web page that includes text, images, and links. We use the web content portlet to create content in Liferay Portal. This portlet has a WYSIWYG editor to assist a user in content generation. It also has the following features:
Multi-language: This allows a user to create the same content in different languages and save it in the database
Structure: This allows a user to define input fields for separate pieces of content
Template: This can be used to arrange content pieces and generate dynamic content
Permission: A user can define which users have access to this content
Scheduled publishing: A user can set the display date of a piece of content
Categorization: The content creator can associate content with a category
Tagging: The content creator can apply multiple tags to a piece of content—this facilitates searching
Versioning: The portlet automatically applies a new version to a piece of content
