Using the drawing tools


Edge includes a limited number of drawing tools, which can be used to create elements within our composition. These elements can eventually be made to move around, allow user interaction, or even be made into Edge Symbols.

The drawing tools can be accessed through a series of icons within the Edge Toolbar. By default, the Toolbar is positioned at the very top of the application window, below the application menu.

Note

It is possible to move the Toolbar around, as it is a panel and therefore shares all of the options and attributes of any panel within the Edge application interface. For more information on this, have a look at the previous chapter.

The Rectangle tool

The Edge Rectangle tool allows us to create rectangular elements upon the Stage which can be animated through the Timeline or have interactivity applied to them through the Actions panel. These elements will default to a<div> HTML element.
