Adding an explosive clip


In this section, you will add an explosion to the Main_Project Copy sequence using one of the pre-composited explosions from Detonation Films. You'll then improve its look using two filters that come as standard in Premiere Pro CS6: Median and Gaussian Blur. You'll then duplicate this clip, turn it upside down, and use the combined effort to create a much bigger explosion.

Engage Thrusters

Add an explosion to your Timeline by following these steps:

  1. Set the Timeline panel as active, and use the J, K, and L keys to find a spot where the MechBot reacts to being hit by a bullet for the last time (around 31;24). Zoom in on this spot using the plus (+) key.

  2. Press M on the keyboard to set a marker at this position, and then double-click on the marker to open its properties screen and call it Explosion.
