Camtasia Studio has a multitrack layering capability to allow producers to insert visuals on a track so they "float" over the main image on the screen. This allows you to introduce information not carried in the recorded video track. I have used this feature many times to correct a recording mistake, such as having a login pop up appear at the wrong time or in the wrong place. Just placing a screenshot of the login pop up over the video clip and positioning it on screen corrects this issue.

Any image, video clip, or effect placed on the timeline above the background video clip will appear in front of it since it will be on a higher layer. If placed on a lower track, it will not be visible.
