This concludes our overview of some more advanced techniques of audio processing. Everything we discussed was meant to get you started, though there are tons of possibilities of going beyond what we did. We discussed dynamic range control and how you can build a system dedicated for transient shaping. We talked about reverberation and how you can go about building a more physically-based one. We talked about FFT and how you can build a pitch shifter (take a look at [gizmo~]
). The possibilities are endless.
We are going to talk a bit more about audio processing in the next chapter, and then, quite soon, start creating visualizations. Remember what we learned in the previous sections about analyzing signals. This will help you understand how to visualize the data, be it amplitude, average power, or transients.
