OpenPGP Keys


PGP stands for Pretty Good Privacy and is a highly secure encryption system with public and private keys. You can upload your keys here if you already use PGP on your computer so that you can use those same keys to encrypt and decrypt files on your server. In addition, some scripts require the use of a PGP key to encrypt or decrypt data.

In addition, there is an interface to create OpenPGP (the open-source version of PGP) keys. Click Add Key and fill in all of the items requested on the form that appears. The larger the key size, the more secure the resulting key will be but the longer it will take the server to generate the key. When you click Generate Key, be patient; this process can take time. When the key has been created, you will be informed. Once the key has been created, the main OpenPGP screen will display the cryptographic fingerprint of both the public and private keys.
