If you click on Edit page properties you will see the form that allows you to edit the Page TypoScript configuration or the TSConfig field. This field can be used to customize the back end. By using TypoScript, you can select what options are available to the user and whether certain modules should be disabled.
You would typically place the TypoScript statements at the top level of the page. This way all these statements will be inherited by sub-pages. In the following sections we will illustrate some typical applications of Page TSConfig.
