The options offered by TYPO3 for generating graphics were discussed in detail in Chapter 6. These features are also the foundation for the creation of dynamically generated graphical menus. This, of course, is an enormous advantage over generating graphical menus the normal way. For example, you no longer have to create the images of the individual items manually in a graphics program.
The same is true with TYPO3 as with all graphical menus: the loading times are longer than for text menus. If this is not a problem for you, you have a powerful tool in your hand that will make it easy for you to integrate graphical menus into your website.
Graphical menus are created with the GMENU
object, which works in a manner similar to TMENU
. The properties for defining the respective states, however, come from GIFBUILDER
