Chapter 6
Having Fun: Lets Analyze the Critical Rendering Path Together
Section 11
Analyzing File Requests in the Network Panel
In this course, we have been using Visual Studio Code as the text editor. (It's entirely free, in case you are wondering.) Live Server is a plugin that allows you to ‘serve' your files to the browser in real time. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), this means extra code is inserted into the index.html file. A web socket is established. In our example, we also see an ng-validate file. What's this? And finally, we also see a request for a favicon.ico file. Don't worry, we are going to go into detail about what all these files are, so you can see how we go about analyzing each file and how you can go about figuring it out on your very own website.
