Chapter 8. Keeping Parents in the Loop

Google classroom shines when it comes to organizing information between the teachers and students. Until recently, it did not provide a method for parents to reap its benefits. Now Google Classroom is able to send e-mail summaries to parents invited as guardians within Google Classroom. This method must be enabled by the school or district's IT department. If your school or district uses another method to communicate with the parents, they may leave this feature disabled because of its inherent security risks. (For example, my current school employer disables Google Classroom's guardian e-mails so that e-mails can undergo a verification process within an in-house system.) If your school does not allow guardian e-mails, by using Google Calendar, you are still able to inform them about important due dates from Google Classroom.
