The
next special directory is the root directory. This directory will hold your templates and other non-code support files. A subdirectory called /root/static is for static content such as images and stylesheets. Catalyst is set up to serve static files from this directory automatically (under the /static path), thanks to Catalyst::Plugin::Static::Simple. Later, when you deploy your application, you can point your web server at this directory to serve the static files without hitting the application every time.
