Martin Winkler has over 10 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX. After receiving his Master's degree in Mathematical Computer Sciences at Vienna University of Technology, he gained experience as a web technology consultant at Capgemini and later as a BI consultant at a consulting company specializing in CFO-targeted services.

In 2003, Martin Winkler joined a newly founded company that specialized in Microsoft Dynamics AX services. Starting as a developer and then as Head of IT, he finally became Head of Development, leading a team of up to 10 developers from 2007 onwards. In 2008, the company was merged with FWI, making it the largest Dynamics AX partner in Austria. Additionally, he built a team of AX performance experts.

While staying with development, he mostly worked as Technical Lead Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics AX for several corporate customers with implementations in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, and North America, with up to 1000 users. He also carried out numerous projects in the areas of Dynamics AX performance and Microsoft BI.

Together with two long-term colleagues, Martin Winkler founded his own company in 2013, Semantax Business Consulting GmbH (www.semantax.at). This company specializes in services and products based on Microsoft Dynamics AX in the areas of solution architecture (both on technical and business side), finance, cost accounting, and budgeting. The question this company asks its customers is "Already controlling, or still only posting?"

Over the last decade, Martin Winkler has met the author of the book at several technical conferences on Microsoft Dynamics AX. He was impressed not only with the author's in-depth technical knowledge, but also with his understanding of the business and process side of the ERP industry. He was honored to be asked to review this book.
