In this chapter we have learned how to influence the way DocumentDB indexes our data. We changed index paths and precision and changed the index mode that is used. We saw how to use spatial data and how to explicitly turn indexing on and off for documents.
Next, we saw how to partition our data and how to use the designated resolvers to enable proper partitioning. Partitioning is useful to distribute the load in case we run out of request units or in case we run out of storage.
We have learned the basics of transactions for DocumentDB and we saw how transactions are handled inside a stored procedure. Finally we have learned how consistency levels can be used and the impact of the different types of consistency levels.
The next chapter will outline an IoT scenario and how DocumentDB can play a role. It will also demonstrate how to combine DocumentDB together with other Azure service offerings to build a mature enterprise solution.
