I hope you found this as an interesting dissertation about the JSF state. This was a controversial subject for a long time, and starting with JSF 2.2, the stateless views pour more gas on the fire of this controversy. Nevertheless, choosing the right way of managing states is a serious decision that affects the applications' performance; therefore, choose wisely and try to be documented about the existing benchmarks and workarounds regarding the JSF state.
