Lucy had been right. Toronto felt very different, the second time. With my EEAA journey completed, I wondered why she had suggested I go there before heading back to New York. In the meantime, Ivan, himself, was in New York working for Michael on the design for the virtual enterprise; and I had received that cryptic text from Françoise.
I phoned Lucy in Paris and asked what I was doing in Canada. “I think someone is waiting for you there,” she said. “Someone with a French name…” I could hear her smiling.
