If you can't see it, you can't manage it. If you can't manage it, you can't monitor it. Why management and monitoring continue to be an afterthought after all of these years, I don't know. There seems to be an obsession with moving data first, then looking at it later. I am not going to go into how to manage XenDesktop, but I will talk about performance monitoring using CLI and GUI tools. Since the usability of XenDesktop is tied directly to performance, you need to understand some of the ways to look at performance to determine if things are running well or if some tweaks need to be made.
