OpenStack can be managed in a variety of ways, including through the GUI, API, and CLI. Neutron provides users with the ability to execute commands from a shell that interfaces with the Neutron API. To enter the Neutron shell, type neutron in a shell on the controller node:

Alternatively, Neutron commands can be executed straight from the Linux command line using the Neutron client. The client provides a number of commands that assist with the creation, modification, and deletion of networks, subnets, and ports.
