Chapter 20. Monitoring and Troubleshooting AWS Lambda

So far, we have been learning about how to write, test, and build serverless applications using the AWS Lambda service. This chapter is going to cover few different aspects with regards to Lambda functions, namely: how to effectively monitor and troubleshoot your functions and applications using a combination of both AWS CloudWatch, as well as a few third-party tools in the form Datadog and Loggly.

In this chapter we will be learning:

  • How to leverage AWS X-Ray for monitoring your serverless applications
