In this chapter, we've covered both wireless technologies and cloud computing concepts. We opened the chapter by discussing the various wireless technologies and standards that are in the world that surround us each day. We've discussed, compared, and contrasted various IEEE 802.11 standards, taking a look at the characteristics and benefits of each and not forgetting various mobile wireless technologies such as GSM, TDMA, CDMA, and LTE.
We took a look at how each technology can be used to improve IT efficiency for both business and individual consumers. The growth of cloud computing has exponentially increased as businesses see the need to outsource either part of or their entire IT infrastructure for many reasons such as cost, human resources, and storage for physical devices.
