Updating the vMA


VMware vMA can be updated using its management UI. The vMA appliance can look for updates and provide an option to install them if available. However, if your vMA appliance does not have access to the Internet, then you will have to decommission the existing vMA and deploy the newer version.

Getting ready

To perform the upgrade, you will need access to the vMA management UI. The URL for the same can be found at the start screen of the appliance virtual machines console. The syntax is https://IP Address of VMA: 5480.

How to do it…

The following procedure will guide you through the steps required in updating the vMA appliance:

  1. Connect to the management Web UI of the vMA appliance that you intend to upgrade to and log in as the vi-admin user.

  2. Navigate to the Status sub tab under Update and click on Check Updates as shown in the screenshot. If it finds an update that can be applied, then it will be listed as an available update. You could then click on Install Updates to initiate...
