Technical requirements

In this chapter, we need to make sure our workstation is a Windows platform, and that a web browser is installed. The latest versions of Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or above are all supported. The VxRail software should be running in version 4.7.300 or above.

For the deployment of disaster recovery solutions on VxRail, we must set up a replication network for virtual machine replication in each VxRail cluster across sites A and B. We require additional licenses for VMware SRM when defining the SRM recovery plan.

As regards the SRM appliance configuration, we must deploy an SRM appliance at each site. The version of the SRM appliance must be the same. The Domain Name System (DNS) name of the vCenter Platform Service Controller (PSC), vCenter Server, and the SRM appliance have been configured to incorporate DNS with the relevant IP address.
