Summary

We started this chapter by learning about OHLC and candlestick charts and their benefits over a simple line chart. We then went on to build both types of charts and learned how to limit the date range shown on our charts. We learned how to implement and use the zoom function.

Later, we created canvas overlay lines and added tooltips so that we could understand what each one was. We finished by learning how to skip over values passed into our tooltips. In the next chapter, we will look at when and how to use bubble charts, block plots, and waterfall charts.
