Dashboard guidelines

While individual queries and visualizations can be created for the analysts themselves, dashboards are usually created for a specific client. That client can be the head of the Marketing department, VP Sales, your CEO, or your external partners.

Every single one of them has different demands and points of interest, and it's your goal to understand them.

Before starting to build the dashboard, ask yourself two questions:

  • Who am I building the dashboard for?
  • What am I going to show on this dashboard?

The first question is important, since here you are going to restrict yourself to specific visualization types.
