Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to build the gold layer of the lakehouse, which stores aggregated data. We also learned that data aggregation is a collaborative effort between the customer and the data engineer, each part providing a specialized set of skills that are essential for the overall success of the project. Toward the end of this chapter, we tried to validate whether we successfully addressed the Electroniz business requirements for building a lakehouse.
In Chapter 9, Deploying and Monitoring Pipelines in Production, we will deploy the three pipelines we created in this chapter – namely electroniz_ingestion_pipeline, electroniz_curation_pipeline, and electroniz_aggregation_pipeline – in succession. This will ensure that at every invocation, they can work as a single unit to contribute toward the overall objective.
