Picking the right world for your activity


At the time of writing, RuneScape has 172 different worlds for you to choose from. Some of those worlds are F2P, while others require you to be a member before you can log on to them. P2P worlds are generally easier to skill up on, and to make money on.

Some of the worlds are general worlds with no specific activity attached to them. Others have a theme attached to them; there are trade worlds, role-play worlds, and rune-running worlds, where people who want to engage in those activities tend to congregate. In addition, there are worlds aimed at German, French, and Portuguese players, with all of the content translated into their respective languages. Jagex attached activities to worlds based on the choices that players were already making, rather than telling players that If you want to trade you should go to world 3, and the activity system generally works pretty well.
