Step-by-Step Example: Create the Workshop


Let’s begin our step-by-step example. We’ll organize the steps using the questions from the section above.

What Work do you want the Student to Submit?

This is how you can get your students to submit their work:

  1. 1. From the Add an activity drop-down list, select Workshop. The Editing Workshop page is displayed.

  2. 2. Into the Submission Title field, enter the name of the workshop. Students will see this on the course home page.

  3. 3. When a student first enters the workshop, (s)he will see what you have entered in the Description field. This field can be both a description of the workshop, and instructions for completing the work. In the example below, you can see several features of a workshop description:

    • The goal of the workshop. This is in the first sentence.

    • An overview of what the student will do. This is in the second and third paragraphs.

    • Step-by-step directions for completing the workshop. This example could be improved if the author included a link to...
