Now that we've covered all these conceptual topics, we are finally at a point where we can start applying them to real-life projects. All the presented concepts in this chapter will be quite necessary over the next chapters to help you understand how and why the tools are designed the way they are.

In the following chapters, we will analyze how to implement and use tools that are related to the BPM realm. We will learn about leveraging rule engines, complex event processing, and other tools with the process engine to be able to solve real world problems.

We'll start by explaining how BPM systems are structured to provide an automated way of handling the BPM discipline stages, and how those tools are used to develop applications to help your company do its job.
