There are a number of tools that you will need to be aware of, to simply administer your SBS 2008 server. Rather than describing how to find each one of them, as we go along, I will quickly recap those we have seen already and introduce the new tools. They are:
Windows SBS Console
Windows SBS Console (Advanced Mode)
Windows SBS Native Tools Management
Exchange Management Shell
Command Prompt run as Administrator
The Windows SBS Console provides access to all reports and settings for managing SBS 2008. It hides the complexity of the underlying sub-systems and gives you a number of wizards to manage those systems.
The console comes in two flavors—standard and advanced mode.
