The Remote Web Workplace enables users to connect to email and the Windows SharePoint Services sites via the browser as well as connect to a Windows computer turned on in the office.
This should enable most people to work remotely without difficulty or the need to connect via a VPN, especially since both Outlook and Windows Mobile can function fully without a VPN.
However, there are scenarios where you need to access the internal SBS 2008 network from another location as if you were sitting in the office. This is configured via a Virtual Private Network that connects over the Internet to remote.yourdomain.co.uk

Note
One scenario not covered here is when you wish to join two branches together. In this situation, you would normally configure the Internet routers to build a private VPN between the two sites. SBS 2008 is not specifically configured for this to work.
