Ant is an industry-standard build management tool used for building and packaging applications. It provides a very flexible and easy-to-use XML-based scripting language for atomizing the application-building and packaging process. Flex 3 provides Ant tasks for compiling Flex application source files. Flex Ant Tasks provide mainly two tasks for compiling Flex application sources—mxmlc and compc. You can use these tasks to compile your Flex application components, libraries, and modules. In addition to compiling tasks, Flex also provides a task called html-wrapper which allows you to customize wrapper generation for your application. Flex Ant Tasks comes with Flex 3 SDK.
