Describe the use and benefits of the compliance score

As stated at the beginning of the previous section, we discussed the sections of Compliance Manager. The main focus of the Microsoft 365 compliance center and, specifically, Compliance Manager is the compliance score. In this section, we will break down the compliance score and how we can use it to increase company compliance.

There are three areas that make up the compliance score:

  • The improvement action score provides a score based on the impact of implementing a recommended improvement. Each action has a different impact on your score, depending on the potential risk involved from not implementing the control.
  • The control score is the sum of points earned by completing improvement actions within the control and is applied to your overall compliance score when the control meets an implemented status and a test result of passed.
