Cybersecurity strategies
As I mentioned in Chapter 8, Ingredients for a Successful Cybersecurity Strategy, some of the cybersecurity professionals I have met with have a negative reaction when the term “strategy” is used in a cybersecurity context. This is a word that can be used in at least a few different ways. Security and compliance professionals sometimes use the term “strategy” when they are referring to frameworks, models, or standards. I explained what I mean when I use this term, in detail, in Chapter 8, Ingredients for a Successful Cybersecurity Strategy. If you haven’t read that chapter already, I recommend that you read it because it provides a lot of context that I won’t repeat here. You’ll see me use the terms framework, approach, and model, interchangeably throughout all the chapters. Please feel free to associate whatever term makes the most sense to you when I use any of these terms.
