When you think about it, Stevens is about half right, but the internet is so much more. The internet is Wi-Fi, fiber, e-commerce, banking, stock trading, social media, video calls, and now blockchains and the metaverse. The introduction of blockchain technology and Bitcoin brought about Web 3.0. This term was coined in 2014 by Gavin Wood, one of the founders of the Ethereum Foundation.
