Consumer behavior is changing commerce. These days commerce is not just a simple act of going to a merchant or a shop, selecting a product and paying for it. As illustrated in the following figure, with the emergence of new technologies mobile commerce includes product discovery by using geo-fencing, in-store and online research, payments by using self-scanning and self-checkout, sharing your purchases with your friends and then to managing your account. We also see a blurring line between online and offline commerce.
In the next few sections, we will discuss different components of commerce from a security perspective.
